Finnish Environment Institute: A training event & Intercomparison test for field measurements 16th of September

Digital Waters Flagship’s project partner, Finnish Environment Institute, is organizing a training event & Intercomparison test for field measurements coming up on September 16th, 2025.

Syke is designated by the Ministry of the Environment of Finland as the national reference laboratory in the environmental field, with main tasks including the organization of proficiency tests. Their experience in organizing comparisons has accumulated since the 1960s.

Interlaboratory comparison and proficiency testing comprises a comparison, based on the evaluation of measurements of the same or similar items by two or more laboratories. It is a tool for laboratories to improve their operations, train the staff, and get an external quality assessment of their performance.

Upcoming events

Intercomparison test for field measurements of oxygen, temperature, pH, turbidity, and electrical conductivity is on September 16th, 2025, at 9.00-11.30 at Kurala pontoon bridge, 20540 Turku.

The registration for this intercomparison test is open until 1st of September 2025.

The participation fee is 400 € (+ VAT) when reporting the results of one device. If the participant wants to test several measuring devices of the represented entity, the cost of an extra measuring device is 250 € /device (+ VAT).

Training event for Field measurements of water quality is on September 16th 2025 at 12.15 pm-15.45. Please note that this event is in Finnish. The program can be downloaded below. Registration is open until 9th September on the Syke training calendar. This training can be acknowledged as 0,5 day professional skills training for certified environmental sampling personnel.
